Visa Process

Each visa type has specific document requirements. Common documents include:

• A valid passport.
• Proof of financial support (bank statements, sponsor letters).
• Application form(s).
• Passport-sized photos (meeting specifications).
• Proof of ties to your home country (e.g., job, family, property).
• Letter of invitation (if applicable).
• Language test results (for study or work permits, or Express Entry).

Additional documents may include:

• Study Permit: Acceptance letter from a DLI, proof of tuition payment.
• Work Permit: Job offer letter, LMIA (if required).
• Permanent Residence: Proof of work experience, educational credentials, and medical exams.

• Provide fingerprints and a photograph at a Visa Application Centre (VAC).
• This is mandatory for most visa applications.

Processing times vary depending on:

• The type of visa.
• Your country of residence.
• Current application backlogs.

For work permits, study permits, or permanent residence, you may need a medical examination conducted by a panel physician approved by IRCC.

• If approved, you will receive a visa or permit sticker in your passport or an approval letter.
• If refused, you will be given reasons for the decision.

• Carry all required documents, including visa approval, travel history, and supporting evidence.
• Present them to a border services officer upon arrival in Canada.
